| | The Lu Yu Teapot is a beautiful way to automatically steep your fine loose teas without having to time the infusions. The filter chamber holds about 6 ounces of water and takes about 1.5 minutes to drain the water through the pin-hole at the bottom of the chamber. Since it takes about 1.5 minutes, the tea infuses during this time, making it a wonderful teapot for preparing oolongs and green teas. Just remove the infuser chamber and pour the fresh tea from the pitcher. To re-steep the leaves, simply add more water into the chamber and allow it to make a second, third, and more infusions, depending on the tea. The chamber includes a mesh filter above the pin-hole, so that the tea leaves don't clog the hole. The tea set includes a drip cup which the infusion chamber fits in perfectly. You can fill the pitcher with 2 full infusions from the chamber, so about 12 ounces. Entertain up to 6 guests with the 6 small tasting cups to match the teapot. Beautiful, simple, and fun. |
